DESCRIPTION:
Careless cooking was the cause of a minor kitchen fire on Thanksgiving Day. Crews arrived to find smoke showing from a two story cape cod. Upon investigating it was found that the home owner had used a garden hose to extinguish the blaze. Firefighters staffing Engine 363 and Towers 369 & 449 checked for extension, vented the house and performed minor overhaul, all other incoming units were returned. The fire was contained to the stove with minor damage to close-by items. Apparatus remained on scene for nearly a half hour before returning to quarters.
