Fairfield Fatal Fire
TYPE: Structure Fire with Entrapment

LOCATION: Lowry Rd - Harborcreek Twp
DESCRIPTION: Engine 31 responded to assist Fairfield Fire Department at a heavily involved house fire Sunday night just after 10:30. Chief 260 arrived to find heavy fire coming from the 2 story wood frame house/garage and reported one person was trapped inside. First in crews attempted to make entry but were pushed back by the heavy heat of the fire. After an initial knockdown was made a search of the house found one female deceased on the second floor.
Several departments responded to control the fire. Upon our arrival the majority of fire was knocked down. Engine 31 was charged with pulling siding and checking for extention on both sides "A" and "C" and assisting as needed. BVFD was on scene for nearly two hours before being returned.
The fire is under investigation by Fairfield FD, PA State Police and the Erie Co DA's Office. Erie Co Coroner was on scene just after midnight.
