Fire-Police
The Belle Valley Fire Department has a division known as the Fire-Police. The fire-police are members of BVFD and are under command of the Chief. All the fire-police are sworn-in by the Millcreek Township Supervisors and are also under the supervision of the Police Chief.

The Fire-Police are led by a Captain (3601) and Lieutenant (3602). The responsibility of the Fire-Police includes traffic control, crowd control, scene security and security of apparatus during fire calls, but they do not ride on fire apparatus or perform fire/rescue/EMS duties. The Fire-Police also work with the police department when needed to perform road closures, traffic control and crowd control - they have no arresting powers, do not carry handguns and do not ride along with or assist the PD in criminal matters.
All members of the BVFD Fire-Police are required to take a basic Fire-Police class. All items and training pertaining to the duties are provided by BVFD, with the exception of transportation.

If you’re interested in joining the ranks of the Fire-Police here at BVFD go to the recruitment inquiry page of the website, call 825-4359 or stop by for an application.
