2010 BVFD Summer Picnic

The 2010 BVFD picnic was held this past Sunday at the Belle Valley Park & Pool. This was the first time the picninc was held at the park in over twenty years. For the past several years the picnic was held at Waldamere. The weather was hot, the sun shined most of the day interupted with a few minutes of rain.

Over forty firefighters and their family members attended the picnic. Several games were played including tug of war, water balloon tosses, three legged races, kids water battles, bocce, horse shoes and volleyball. As a matter of fact two of the volleyball games played were teams that included the officers versus everyone else. The officers teams consisted of seven players and they played against a team of fifteen. The officers won both games 30-0 and 30 -10.

Millcreek Township graciously let everyone in attendance use the pool for free that day. Two lucky attendees won door prises. Katie Vasilik won a portable DVD player. Cheri Detzel was the winner of a MP3 player.
Everyone had a great time, ate a lot of wonderful food and lots of fun!
