Pre Construction Conference For New Tower 369

March 5, 2010 | News

Representatives from BVFD and the Sutphen Corp. met this past Monday & Tuesday for a pre-construction conference for the new Tower 369.

Chief John Semple, Assistant Chief Tom Krahnke, President Jeff Skonieczki and Firefighter Tom Lewis made the four and a half hour drive to Columbus, Ohio to meet with sales reps, engineers and management officials of Sutphen. The two day conference included tours of the main Sutphen plant, the chassis plant & the maintenance facility. A meeting and tour was also taken at Fire Marine Inc (FMI). FMI is the company that is going to mount all auxilliary equipment on the new Sutphen SPH 100.

The main conference on Tuesday was to finalize the building plans. It took nearly eight hours to go over the building plans almost line by line to make sure nothing was missing and everything was in order. A few necessary changes were made that will ensure this truck will be the best aerial tower for BVFD.

No date has been set as to when construction will begin. As soon as it does we will post it. We will also post updates as the construction is on going.

We would like to thank Jeff, Tom, Drew and everyone else at Sutphen for the hospitality during our two day stay.
