BVFD Purchases New Sutphen Tower

It is official! The Belle Valley Fire Department last night signed a contract to purchase a brand new tower ladder. The contract was signed with the Sutphen Corporation of Columbus, Ohio.

The new truck will be a Sutphen model SPH100. Features on this truck include

  • 100 foot aerial
  • Larger bucket
  • 1500 gpm pump
  • 280 gallon water tank
  • Light tower
  • Six man, raised roof cab
  • State of the art electrical system
  • More than 200 feet of ground ladders
  • Hose bed to accomodate 5" LDH
  • Full LED light package

The truck will cost just over $1 million and will be partially funded by a $400,000 grant from the Erie County Gaming Authority. Construction on the custom built Sutphen SPH100 should take 10-12 months.
